Flex Wheeler was born on August 23rd, 1965, in Fresno, California as Kenneth Wheeler. He was great in sports as a child and started with martial arts and bodybuilding as a teenager. He shortly worked as a police afficer but then he pursued his dream of becoming a professional bodybuilder.
In 1983, Wheeler he tried his first competition. Six years later, he won for the first time, namely the NPC Mr. California Championships. During his bodybuilding career, he won many trophies and became also a five-time Ironman Pro winner, France and Hungarian Grand Prix winner, Night of Champions winner, and South Beach Pro Invitational winner.
After his retirement in 2002, he dedicated his time to martial arts like Kemp-Kwon-Do. Wheeler went through a kidney transplantation in 2003. He worked as a the Director of Media and Public Relations for the All American EFX, a sports nutrition company.
