Lisa Price is a successful entrepreneur and now also one of the judges on new reality show Queen Boss. She founded company Carol’s Daughter which is selling skincare beauty products, fragrances, and hair products. As of 2017, Price’s net worth is estimated to be $12 million and we also know interesting details from her way to riches.
Lisa started her company in her kitchen and with only $100 investment. She was selling at flea markets at first. Price revealed in one interview, that she always had a dry skin and that brought her to making her own homemade creams. First of her body butters and bath oils were finished in 1993 and although the business grew, Lisa kept it simple and was selling from her apartment for six years.
Although her great skin care products were what attracted first customers, they also later asked for hair products. So Lisa expanded her portfolio. Her first store was opened in 1999 in Brooklyn. The growth rate was unsustainable without investors and so the CEO of her company led a fund raising that brought $10 million of venture capital. Some of her investors are Jay-Z, Will Smith, and Mary J. Blige.
Today, Price is selling beauty products online as well in famous store chains. She also opened nine own stores and developed partnerships with Macy’s. Some of her best sellers are Almond cookie hand cream, Vanilla marshmallow body duo (for dry and extra dry skin), and Monoi body repairing tonic.
