Pete Holmes was born on March 30, 1979, Lexington, Massachusetts, to a Lithuanian mother. During his studies, Holmes was a part of an improvisational comedy troupe titled The Sweaty-Toothed Madmen. When he was 22 years old, he started with stand-up comedy performance.

He has been hosting a comedy interview podcast titled You Made It Weird since October 2011. He also hosted The Pete Holmes Show from October 2013 to June 2014. Holmes released two albums, Impregnated With Wonder in 2011 and Nice Try, The Devil in 2013.
