Eddie Huang

Famous chef Eddie Huang is known for his appearance on reality series Huang’s World. He owns a Baozi restaurant in the East Village called BaoHaus. Chinese cuisine made him not only popular but also rich. Huang has several sources of income and his total net worth is approximately $2.6 million as of 2016.

Eddie was born March 1, 1982 in Washington, D.C. His father run a group of steak and seafood restaurants in Florida so young Eddie had a favorable background in this type of business. Huang received a bachelor’s degree in English and Film at Rollins College. Later he, also obtained J.D. at Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. Although becoming a lawyer can be a very profitable career path, Huang worked for a lawyer firm in NYC only for a while.

After being laid off, Huang searched for other options to gain income and eventually became a stand-up comedian. He also tried his luck as a clothing designer but eventually found his true vocation as a chef and restaurateur. Today, he owns a prestigious place at East Village, New York City.

Huang published also two books. His debut is called Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir and more recently he released Double Cup Love: On the Trail of Family, Food, and Broken Hearts in China in 2016. He was also picked as a TED Fellow in 2012 but they later revoked his membership. In reaction to that. Eddie called TED a “scientology summer camp”. And that wasn’t the only controversy caused by some of his public comments.
