Ben Sargent is a restaurateur, chef, and also a television star. He gained some recognition for several cooking shows but he has something new in store for the 2017. Sargent will be the main star of DIY’s Backyard Goldmine show. He will be turning old barns into gorgeous dwellings. As of 2017, Sargent’s net worth is about $1.5 million.
Ben was born October 26, 1977. He graduated Skidmore with a Bachelor of Science degree. He focused on studio art. In 2001, Sargent opened seafood restaurant called Hurricane Hopeful. Later, he added Surf Bar to his restateur’s portfolio. Ben appeared on Throwdown! with Bobby Flay and other Food Network shows.
He is surely the man of many talents. But still, we re surprised to see him switch from food to real estate. On the new DIY series, Sargent will be renovating old barns and sheds. Can he turn those run down small buildings into hip rustic rental units? That would be a real estate investment masterpiece!
On the first episode, Sargent is heading to Burlington, Vermont. Artist Maea and tennis coach Rob have an old carriage barn that they would love to see turned into something useful and nice. In the past, Ben was also in lobster roll business and at the peak of this endeavor, he sold over 150 every night.
